cristina::: anytime!

how can you make justice to such a huge personality in just 2 dimensions? that was my challenge when i set out to take cristina’s portraits. this girl does it all, from martial arts, to being a camp leader, to actually clowning around… as a legitimately trained clown. after talking for a bit we quickly hit it off by realising that neither of us takes life too seriously, and that is just a recipe for a fantastic photo shoot. tell me you’re up to anything, beautiful music to my ears.

so armed with nothing but my two 35mm digital camera’s we set out to have a fun time and come up with ridiculous poses, and a genuine “yes, i actually look this awesome all the time” photo. this, and laughing until our faces hurt, was what came out of it!

adrian, izan, and helen::: family

2014-05-06_0013

 I would have had the same look on my face if someone had asked me to start breakdancing, with no music, in the middle of a park. It took him a minute to get started but once he did Adrian rocked it. It was so cute to see his family cheering him on and telling him what moves to try next. Once he was done we took a little walk and decided to do some individual shots, so everyone had a fun photo or two to remember the day by. It was a fun time just hanging out with these guys for a bit. And I have to admit that if I wasn’t so accident prone I would have asked him to teach me a move or two!
