she’s insane. this has got to be one of my favorite things about my little sister anna, she is up to anything. she will be ridiculous in the middle of the street, blast opera singing, dance, or do whatever i want or comes to mind. i wanted to go out and try some lighting techniques and of course we ended up doing a bit of an impromptu photo session, with our friend jasone, and just have fun and hang out and see what we could come up with. i have to say i am really happy with the results. we have to do this again!

hello khumba!
death by cutie. that’s how i feel when i see all of these photos from little rhumba’s session. her mom wanted to try on a million little outfits, and i have to say that for a toddler she did amazing. it took a lot of running around and calling her name, but when it’s all said and done, like i said… death by cutie!
nathy!
Nothing but air. Nathy and I were surrounded by trees, grass, the cool autumn breeze, and the promise of an amazing sunset. this session was admittedly a bit shorter than others as we TOTALLY got lost on our way up the mountain. and yes, I was definitely driving. We had this crazy idea of going to this mountain that neither one of us had been to before, and as most people know I am not one to say no to adventure. A couple wrong turns, an illegal u-turn, and tons of laughter along the way and we had safely made it to la arboleda. Not sure if we would be able to find our way back home again, but greeted by some gorgeous light we set out to do what we do. and might I say? we did good. 😉
cynthia + brandon: family
we were surrounded. in a small fishing town with about 12 houses, just the five of us. we were surrounded by the gorgeous trees, the atlantic ocean, the fishing boats and came and went, and lots and lots of lobster cages. cynthia, brandon, and i met up in northpoint (maine) to get some family photos of them and their gorgeous kiddos, roz and ryder. we went to the family wharf and made new memories on top of old ones. rozelynn gave all kinds of sass and dramatic poses. ryder kept things super cute with that small child innocence. i love that we finished off the session with a mommy reading of “where the wild things are” on the stairs. too cute not to share, i simply surrender!
oihane +1
we skipped town. we packed the props, the cameras, even the kid, and we went to spend a photo-filled day in cantabria. oihane was so easy going in front of the camera. so clearly in love with her husband, unai, and him with her. their little trouble-maker, ekaitz and i got into tons of improvised games, and we even got time to race, jump, swing, and even end up completely soaked. but i have to say that my favorite part of this photo shoot was the gorgeous sunset at the end, the genuine smiles, and the excitement on their faces when they talk about finally meeting baby urko. i think my heart even skipped a beat!
tani +1
we hit the road. when i first started talking to tani about doing a maternity session we quickly got excited about the idea of finding someplace out of town, calm, and absolutely beautiful. we found the perfect spot in noja. a nearly-deserted beach, an adjacent park, and the golden hour promising us a gorgeous sunset was definitely worth the drive. these two… they’ve definitely got a good thing going on. it was so easy to get them to be affectionate and have fun with the session because they are just overflowing with love for each other. they honestly made my job so easy and fun that i can’t wait until we get together again for some newborn photos. it’s going to be amazing!
hello emma!
blue eyes. it’s impossible not to notice them when you first set your eyes on emma. along with her amazing head of hair, this baby will steal your heart and then melt it. she was very well behaved during the session and even flashed me a smile or two at the camera.what more could i ask for? i have to say i was also super happy to finally be able to see elisa and victor transition from their happy couple session, to their maternity session, and finally see them become parents. being able to witness this is definitely a privilege and one of my very favorite things as a photographer. thank you guys for opening your home to me and allowing me to capture these beautiful moments!
mylene & miguel: engaged!
we sneaked out. the day that i shot mylene and miguel’s engagement photos we had actually met up for a barbecue full of friends and family. we had spent the last couple of weeks trying to arrange a proper date for the engagement session but inevitably something would come up and it would fall through. so there we were, stuffing our faces with freshly grilled burgers when i mentioned that i had brought my camera “just in case.” mylene’s eyes lit up. after a little convincing, miguel agreed to an impromptu photo shoot, and we we sneaked out of the barbecue and into the woods to write down the chapter to their new story together. we will meet again in september, with vows, and flowers, and toasts with champagne… but this time everyone will know. 😉
hello chloe!
no words. truth time: everyone who knows me knows i am a big talker. let’s just get that out of the way from the very beginning. it is because of this that i find myself equally surprised every week by the exact same thing. you see, i have been photographing newborns and new families all year long, intensely, and i have to say that every time i look through the photographs and try think of what to say about them on their blog post I find myself to be at a complete loss for words. yes, i really enjoyed meeting josu and jina and their gorgeous chloe. yes, it was an equally fun and challenging experience. and yes, i absolutely love what i do… but when i look at their big smiles and glowing faces. so fresh. so new. so absolutely pouring with love, surprise, fear, and complete delight over their brand new baby girl… all i can say is that it might just be true, a picture is worth a thousand words… so here’s a couple of them to get you talking! 😉
