we couldn’t have planned it. backtracking to when susana and i first talked about doing a winter shoot with the kids, victor and aitor, we had planned for some winter fun running around a mountain with oversized winter hats and scarves. the occasional puddle. pink cheeks as proof of the winter air. but nature had other plans. as the date neared we were suddenly surprised by a snowstorm. as one may suspect, we don’t get much snow in spain… at least not in this area. so we grabbed our colourful snow clothes and set out to have snow fights, race while your feet sink in, and scream down a slope on a sleigh. we couldn’t have planned it, but if we had it couldn’t have been any more fun.

saying it was cold would have been an understatement. it was freezing. 32 degrees farenheit isn’t exactly the best weather to go out and take some photos. especially with tom showing all kinds of leg! but armed with hand warmers and temporary winter coats nicky, tom, and i piled up into a van full of trees and made it to the most gorgeous location. loch-something-or-other. the snowy mountains, the reflections on the puddles, even the gloomy sky made for a pretty cozy and romantic scenario. so while i definitely felt guilty wearing a thick winter jacket and snowboarding “trousers” they huddled up for warmth, and might i say they looked absolutely adorable in doing so! 🙂
